Abstract: The question of concept and conceptualization belong to the basic questions in current cognitive linguistics. The ‚container‘ concept is considered to be one of the superconcepts which affect not only utterances, but also the way of thinking and considering. However, it is a typological concept and there are lots of different linguistic attitudes to delimitate it. M. Rachilina’s semantic concept prefers an exact linguistic quantification of the ‚container‘ concept in Russian. The goal of our article is to compare the ‚container‘ concept in Russian and Czech based on the material being compared. The analysis of the presented linguistic material results in finding that the differences in conceptualization strategies in Russian and Czech come from miscellaneous reasons in which the effect of the language is just one of them.
