Abstract in different language: This paper deals with an application of Acoustic Emission for monitoring of tool wear during hard turning. The results illustrate that the signals of Acoustic Emission and some derived parameters can be applied to monitoring of deformation processes in the cutting zone and process of tool wear. The Acoustic Emission system is capable to detect the specific character of chip formation during hard turning and therefore can be adapted for specific tasks associated with this cutting operation.
