Abstract in different language:	The article deals with the safety of chemical plants, to describe the general trends in the evaluation of major industrial accidents, briefly described the characteristic symptoms of type scenarios, consequences of major industrial accidents and what are the causes of major industrial accidents, briefly describes the selection of resources for quantitative risk assessment is then described as estimate the size of social risk, to assess the social acceptability of risk and finally, what is the general trend of risk assessment in the field of industrial accidents. Predkladaný príspevok sa zaoberá problematikou bezpečnosti chemických prevázdok, popisujú sa v ňom všeobecné trendy v oblasti hodnotenia závažných priemyselných havárií, v stručnosti sú popísane charakteristické prejavy typových scenárov, dôsledky závažných priemyselných havárií a aké sú príčiny vzniku závažných priemyselných havárií, stručne popisuje selekciu zdrojov pre kvantitatívne hodnotenie rizika, popisuje ako sa následne odhaduje veľkosť spoločenského rizika, ako sa posúdi prijateľnosť spoločenského rizika a nakoniec, aký je všeobecný trend hodnotenia rizika v oblasti priemyselných havárií.
