Abstract in different language:	In the contribution, we focused on broadening the knowledge about testing game skills and motor abilities in basketball in relation to competition categories. The aim was to create a new concept for testing children and youth in basketball. Based on the content analysis of the relevant tests and the content of the sports training in the given categories, we have assembled the test batteries, which we have distributed in relation to the competition categories of the Slovak Basketball Association. V príspevku sme sa zamerali na rozšírenie poznatkov o testovaní herných zručností a pohybových schopností v basketbale vo vzťahu k súťažným kategóriám. Cieľom bolo vytvoriť novú koncepciu testovania detí a mládeže v basketbale. Na základe obsahovej analýzy relevantných testov a obsahu športovej prípravy v daných kategóriách sme zostavili testové batérie, ktoré sme rozdelili vo vzťahu k súťažným kategóriám Slovenskej basketbalovej asociácie.
