| Abstrakt: | Studie se zaměřuje na kontakty rodiny Sidney (Philip Sidney, Robert Sidney) převážně spojené se střední Evropou, tedy Čechami, vídeňským dvorem, Polskem a Maďarskem (resp. Uhrami). Nejdříve bude popsána středoevropská intelektuální síť v kontextu sidneovských, resp. anglicko-kontinentálních kontaktů obecně, poté se konkrétněji zaměřím na osobu Andrease Duditha jako zástupce polského intelektuálního prostředí a Johanna Sambuca jako uherského humanistu a přední osobnost tehdejšího vídeňského dvora. Zajímat mě bude primárně jejich vztah k Sidneyovým, který ovšem vyrůstá z jejich pozice v středoevropském intelektuálním dění. |
| Abstrakt v dalším jazyce: | Intellectual and literary circles, communities, and networks were a significant feature of Renaissance and early modern literary culture, playing a crucial part in nurturing intellectual communication and the circulation of knowledge. My contribution here is to focus on the particular intellectual network that Sidney moved in. A tour of the continent was a rite of passage for any aspirant of the day seeking to learn about foreign lands and languages, establish social and political contacts, and extract politically important information. Motivated by such pursuits, brothers Philip and Robert Sidney set out. I will here focus on a key representatives of the Polish and the Hungarian/Slovak intellectual tradition and the Viennese court, scholars Andreas Dudith and Johannes Sambucus. Taking their involvement with the Sidneys as an essential framework for my analysis, I will explore their role in their European intellectual circle. |
