| Abstract: | Texas je velmi specifický stát, který na jedné straně volí demokraty a na straně druhé republikány. Toto rozdělení je dáno blízkostí hranice s Mexikem, neboť jižní část Texasu je převážně obydlena obyvateli Hispánské etnické skupiny, kteří sympatizují s demokraty. Čím dál se counties vzdalují od této hranice, tím menší podporu demokraté zaznamenávají. Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo přiblížení geografických aspektů, které ovlivňují volbu prezidenta Spojených států amerických a to s konkrétním zaměřením na americké volby v roce 2016 v Texasu. K dosažení tohoto cíle byla vyhotovena teoretická a praktická část. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na samotný politický systém USA a postup při volbě prezidenta. Praktická část analyzuje faktory ekonomické, demografické a etnické ovlivňující volbu. Korelační analýza následně porovnává vzájemný vztah mezi výše zmíněnými faktory a podporou Hillary Clintonové. Práce byla doplněna o dotazníkové šetření, které přineslo další pohled na výsledky. Výstupem práce je vyhodnocení zkoumaných faktorů v porovnání s korelační analýzou a dotazníkovým šetřením. |
| Abstract in different language: | Texas is a very specific state that elects Democrats on the one hand and Republicans on the other. This division is due to the proximity of the border with Mexico, where the southern part of Texas is predominantly inhabited by residents of the Hispanic ethnic group who sympathize with the Democrats. The further you go from the border the less support Democrats are getting. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to approach the geographical aspects that influence the election of the President of the United States of America. Specifically, the author focused on the US election in 2016 in Texas. To achieve this goal, a theoretical and practical part was made. The theoretical part focuses on the US political system itself and the procedure of electing the president. The practical part of the work focuses on demographic, economic and ethnic factors influencing the choice. Correlation analysis then compares the relationship between the factors and Hillary Clinton's support. The work was supplemented by a survey, which brought a different point of view of the results. The output of the work is the evaluation of the examined factors in comparison with the correlation analysis and the survey. |
