Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is one of the most widelyused technologies for reducing emissions from diesel engines, which arewidely used in the energy world. This technology is very complex, and it isnot currently possible to address all aspects of it comprehensively. This study focuses on trying to improve the distribution of the exhaust stream atthe catalyst inlet using models which represent the most common geometricdistributions. Four types of geometries are selected, complemented by a fifthdesign, which is used as a reference, to find the maximum achievable valuesof the parameters under study. In this case, mainly the uniformity index isaddressed, which indicates how uniformly the selected variable is distributedover the particular area. The study presents possible modifications of the fluegas duct which will be generally applied.de
