Abstract in different language: The demographic ageing of the population is one of the main attributes of modern society. The topic of demographic ageing is discussed particularly in relation to socio-economic factors, e.g. in the issue of pension reform. Ageing or senior age can be seen through traditional or active ageing theory, and also through disengagement theory, theories of political economy or “third age” theory. By using advanced quantitative methodology, this paper analyzes ČSDA data and focuses on how seniors are satisfied with their life in Czech society and what influences their satisfaction. Significant variables that positively affect life in old age are personal activity and family wealth. Conversely, gender and intense family relationships proved to be non-significant. These variables did not affect the satisfaction of the elderly.
