Abstract in different language: | The aim of this study was to determine if there is a relationship between the number of soft information technologies used in small or medium-sized company and its financial performance. This task was accomplished via Pearson correlation analysis. Data for this research were collected via survey among 85 companies, 46 of which were small and 39 medium-sized. The general hypotheses was that the use of soft information technologies like ERP, EAP, EIP, MIS, EIS, BI, CRM and CI contributes to better economic performance of a company, measured via labor productivity, profit per employee and return on sales. This hypotheses was confirmed for medium-sized companies, thus the use of soft IT may be beneficial for them. However for the small companies the hypotheses could not be confirmed, their economic performance was not significantly higher if they had implemented more soft IT. In all types of companies the acquisition of IT should be carefully considered and planned. |
