Abstract in different language: This paper describes the process of designing an experimental energy device based on the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) for converting heat to mechanical or electrical energy, or processing this heat energy so that it can be used to heat living spaces. When designing an ORC system, the key is the choice of an appropriate working substance and the assessment of the function and impact of individual parts of the entire system in terms of overall efficiency. Particular attention should be paid to expansion devices that can greatly influence the efficiency of the system. A dynamic turbine or volumetric expander can be used as an expansion device, which is in principle an inverted compressor. At the beginning of every ORC system design, a careful technical and economic analysis tailored to the specific operating situation must be carried out.
