| Abstrakt v dalším jazyce: | The aim of this paper is to introduce and classify a multifamily firm, a business controlled and managed by two or more families without blood or marriage ties. Based on the existing family business theory and the literature review on this emerging topic, we define a family and a multi-family firm to emphasize their unique aspects. Subsequently, we suggest and discuss five theoretical propositions for the future research agenda that should help to clarify whether a multifamily firm is either a truly distinct type of business that can exist and prosper in the long term or a mere transitional phase within the family business life cycle. |
