dc.description.abstract-translated | It can be stated that most authors publishing in the field of creative industries directly or indirectly link the creative economy with intellectual property and innovation. The importance of formal and informal instruments for the protection of intellectual property rights continues to grow and this issue is increasingly published in various scientific and professional studies. Evidence is also provided by newly emerging legislation in the European but also in the American space on this area, such as the Transpacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), the World Trade Organization Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS). On the other hand, there is a virtual absence of research that investigates the relationship between the impact of the type of IPR protection and the innovation process. As the literature in this area shows us, creative economy policies have proliferated globally and questions have legitimately arisen as to whether existing IP legal systems positively or negatively affect the development of creative industries. In order to at least partially contribute to filling this gap, we present an analysis that is oriented towards the space of European countries. The data source is the Eurostat database. However, this database, besides to its valuable data, has limitations that also limit the conclusions of this paper. | en |
