Abstract in different language: The ability to successfully derive future values of key variables has always belonged with the objects of human interest and has not even avoided the business sector. For several decades, many economists have been trying to find a way how to assess the health of a business as accurately as possible, or predict bankruptcy. The importance of predictive models is increasing right in these times, when the number of bankruptcies is growing. This article aims to analyze the use of corporate predictive models in Czech Republic. The first part shows the development of company bankruptcies. There are also included insolvency rates in regions and sectors of the economy. The second part evaluates the survey, which focused on the use of predictive models in financial analysis of companies from manufacturing industry.
