Abstract in different language: | The goal of this bachelor thesis is to get acquainted with population models in discrete time, specifically with the Leslie matrix model. Our main intention is to extend the Leslie model on general spatial structures. First, we study a simple two-generation model on two patches and examine the effect of diffusion parameters describing migration of adults between these two areas. Then we generalize this two-generation model for n areas which are situated next to each other or in the circle. Consequently, we only allow migration to neighboring areas. In these two-generation models we determine for which parameter values the extinction or the survival of the modeled species will occurs. Enabling adults to move between areas could ensure the survival of the populations on patches where they become extinct without diffusion and vice versa. |
