| Abstrakt v dalším jazyce: | The paper focuses on the reconstructions of the castle of Český Krumlouv during thereign of Oldřich II. of Rosenberg (1418–1451) which inflicted the whole area of the then gothic castle. The erection of new palace wings around the fourth courtyard made the problem of western fortification, where the presence of a massive shield wall is assumed, more urgent. This hypothesis is discussed in the paper and the conclusion is made that the knowledge of this kind of fortification is very problematic and neglected not only in Český Krumluv castle, but in the whole Czech castellology alike. |
