Abstract in different language: | Electronic devices intended for an explosive atmosphere with a significant concentration of explosive gases, vapours, or dust, must meet strict standards requirements. The essential requirement is low surface resistivity, vital for dissipating static charge from the environment and preventing spark generation. This paper is focused on the dielectric characterisation of three variants of electrical insulating polyurethane potting compounds in combination with three dissipative coatings. The analysis of the specimen's surface resistivity in the (i) initial state, (ii) state after their placement in a water bath, (iii) state after their placement in a water bath with detergent, and (iv) state after thermal stabilisation in an air oven at 125 °C was performed. Then, the effect of such conditions on the dielectric properties of tested specimens with/without different coatings was assessed. It was found that the surface resistivity is significantly affected for all tested specimens by immersion in water. Nevertheless, after a long-term stabilisation under ambient conditions, the surface resistivity of the specimens with/without coatings was close to the values before immersion for two types of coating. For the third type, a different trend in the observed parameters was found for two combinations of polyurethane compound and semiconductive coating due to the lower adhesion of these materials, which had an impact on the stability of the coating. |
