Abstract: This paper discusses a process of designing and implementing a graphical user interface (GUI) for an XML browser. The process consists of four steps: a) a concept of a multimedia browser for television is defined; b) the GUI requirements are defined; c) a prototype is designed and tested with multimedia authoring tools; and d) finally, the prototype is implemented, which is done in Java, and integrated with an existing XML browser. The result is a browser application that can be run on digital television.
