| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se věnuje čtyřem příkladů, které se staly folklórem konkrétní problematiky. Logickým folklórem myslíme příklady z různých oblastí mytologie, historie a kultury použité různými analytickými filosofy na ilustraci konkrétního filosofického problému. Tyto příklady se staly tak populární, že je další autoři přebírali a hojně citovali. Tyto příklady postupně přecházely z díla do díla, až se staly synonymem pro daný problém nebo přinejmenším jeho stěžejním ukazatelem. V této práci budou představeny čtyři příklady používané v souvislosti s problematikou významu a analýzy singulárních termínů. Jsou to Dartmouth, Jitřenka a Večernice, Současný francouzský král a Pegas. Ke všem příkladům je vysvětlen daný teoretický problém a jeho vývoj. Byl prozkoumán i kulturní a společenský kontext, ze kterého byl příklad převzat. Příklad Dartmouth použil John Stuart Mill ve svém díle Systém logiky. Jitřenka a Večernice je dvojice příkladů Gottloba Fregeho z článku O smyslu a výzanamu. Russell v díle O Označení používal příklad současného francouzského krále. Posledním příkladem je Pegas, který použil Quine v díle O tom, co jest. |
| Abstract in different language: | This thesis is devoted to four examples that have become folklore for specific philosophical issue. By logical folklore we mean examples from different areas of mythology, history and culture used by analytical philosophers to illustrate a particular philosophical problem. These examples have become so popular that other authors accepted them and often quoted them. These examples merged into many works and became synonymous with the problem or at least its core symbol. In this thesis four examples are presented with connection with the issue of the word meaning and analysis of singular terms. These are Dartmouth, Morning and Evening star, The present king of France and Pegasus. All examples are explained including the theoretical problem and its development. The cultural and social context of the example is also explored. Dartmouth is an example by John Stuart Mill from his book The System of Logic. The morning star and the evening star is a couple of examples which Gottlob Frege used to illustrate his theory. Bertrand Russell in his article On Denoting used the example of The present king of France. The last example is Pegasus used by Quine in his article On what there is. |
