Abstract: The paper deals with parameter optimization method of a railway vehicle bogie. Wheelsets are subjected to stochastic excitation caused by irregularities of the track geometry and/or caused by deterministic excitation from polygonalized running surface of the wheels, respectively. Stochastic irregularities are understood as stationary stochastic process described by spatial power spectral density functions. The polygonalization process forms radial irregularities of the running surface which can be described by of a harmonic function depending on order of the wheel polygonalization. The optimization method is based on minimization of several types of objective functions suitable for optimization from the dynamic load point of view of exposed linkage
