Abstract in different language: The small and medium sized entrepreneurship is often considered to be as a phenomenon of our times. Why many authors dedicated their work on this field? „SME“ influence society life and contribute to economic development of the region, where they establish their business. The same situation is in Moravia-Silesian region, where the factor analysis being applied. VRIO and Porter‘s analysis were used to interpret clearly research findings. Principal point of view is to identify and describe endogenous factors, which represent standard business behaviour in chosen region. This region represents a territory with the second lowest entrepreneurship activity rate in the Czech Republic (Czech Statistical Office, 2005) under the idea that „SME is closely connected with region where they born“. Entrepreneurship activity we examine from the subject‘s potential point of view (what could offer to the society or to the market; supply side) and resources for activi- ty development (financing, human resources) in context of the dynamics and turbulent of business environment. Conclusions are based on empirical study with synthesis of bibliography sources to define barriers in SME sector, especially on internal factors (actively affected by subject) as a potential of growth. The VRIO strategic method of internal business analysis being used to sort up and in- terpret founded factors (Barney, 1991) as a source for strategy planning and their direction to be more competitive in globalizing business environment.
