Abstract: This paper is devoted to numerical approximations of fluid-structure interaction problems. Namely the problem of interaction of turbulent flow over flexibly supported airfoil is addressed. In order to model the turbulence effects the flow is described by Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. The Reynolds equations and the turbulence model is numerically approximated by the finite element method. In order to avoid spurious oscillations stabilization procedures are applied. The application of the developed numerical method is shown in several numerical experiments.
