Abstract in different language: This article discusses the company performance evaluation process using the EFQM Excellence Model. A literature review focused on this model demonstrates that the implementation of the EFQM Excellence Model has brought companies number of positive effects and has provided guidance for improving the company performance on a self-assessment basis. The START Model questionnaire based on the principles of the EFQM Excellence Model was used to assess the performance of the company S&K PUBLIC and is appropriate as a first step towards excellence. A questionnaire survey was conducted in the selected company and overall performance was calculated based on the results from 9 areas of questionnaire. The article shows how this method of assessment is carried out, including specific examples. It has been identified in which areas the company excels, and on the other hand, in which areas it is necessary to focus on and look for opportunities for improvement. The performance evaluation through this model enabled the company to identify its current situation, to more easily find its strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement, and to identify future directions and priorities that would be in line with its strategy. In order to increase the performance and competitiveness of an organization, it is also appropriate to compare the results of the evaluation regularly with competing companies.
