| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce pojednává o mezinárodním boji proti pirátství v oblasti Afrického rohu. Cílem práce je analýza operací EU a NATO s primárním zaměření na operaci EU Atalanta, a okolnosti jejího vzniku. NATO v oblasti spustilo celkem tři námořní mise, které pomohly snížit počty pirátských útoků v oblasti. Součástí práce je definování námořního pirátství a vypracované statistiky s počty pirátských útoků ve zkoumané oblasti. Statistiky jsou vypracované na základě údajů z mezinárodního námořního úřadu a mezinárodní námořní organizace, které se problematikou pirátství zabývají celosvětově. Piráti útočící v této oblasti jsou převážně ze Somálska, z toho důvodu je část práce věnována problematice tohoto státu. Vnitřní nestabilita, nedostatek bezpečnostních složek pro ochranu pobřežních vod, a špatné přírodní podmínky jsou jedny z hlavních příčin somálského pirátství. |
| Abstract in different language: | This bachelor thesis is about international fight with piracy in the Horn of Africa. The aim is analysis operations of EU and NATO with the primary focus for the operation EU Atalanta and conditions of her origin. NATO had three maritime missions at this area that helped to reduce the piracy attacks. In the thesis is also definition of maritime piracy and statistics of the piracy acts in the research area. Statistics are based on international maritime bureau and international maritime organization that are dealing with the maritime piracy of the world. The pirates operating at this area are mainly from Somalia this is the reason why is part of this thesis devoted to Somali issues. Failed state, failed security forces of the territorial waters and naturals disasters are mainly causes of Somali piracy. |
