Abstract in different language: | The topic of gender audits in labor law is relatively heterogeneous in the Eu ropean states. While in Iceland, gender audits are a common part of labor law culture, in the Slovak Republic it is a new phenomenon that has no basis in legislation. In the article, the author deals with the essentials of a gender audit as well as its use in labor relations in order to achieve equality in payment and a way to fight pay gap. Furthermore, the author analyzes the approach to gender audits in Iceland and the Slovak republic and points out their advantages as well as pitfalls. In the author’s opinion a gender audit is an effective tool promoting gender equality in the workplace and it should be one of the decisive criteria when providing subsidies from public funds, hence “forcing” the employers to ensure gender equality at workplace. |
