Abstract in different language: This bachelor thesis is focused on economic aspects of split of Czechoslovakia in the end 1992. The main goals of this thesis are: Firstly, the fact considering economic differences between the Czech lands and Slovakia which influenced common life of Czechs and Slovaks is tried to be proved. Secondly, the connection between economic and political development is discussed. Thirdly, the role of economic aspects in the split of Czechoslovakia are determined. The origin of different economic development can be found in the 19th century. The Czech lands were the most develop parts of the Austria-Hungary Empire. On the contrary, Slovakia was an agricultural country. During the First Czechoslovak Republic, Slovakia perceived itself as the only part under the central control of the Czech state. The situation changed after 1948, especially after the Soviet occupation of 1968; Slovakia became more industrialized and its economic level nearly reached the economical level of Czech in 1980s. The problems of the Czech-Slovakia relations which were repressed by communist regime emerged again after the Velvet Revolution of 1989. The situation had been escalated by rapid economic reform which had a deep impact on Slovakia. The only possible solution of this problem was the divorce. Dividing of Czechoslovak state had a lot of reasons in 1992. The most important reasons were historical condition, differences in Czechs and Slovaks political culture and absence of constitution. This thesis confirmed that economic conditions also were important aspect during the negotiation about independence both nation.
