Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá politikou paměti a představuje způsoby, kterými současné politické elity reinterpretují historické události za účelem podpory svých aktuálních postojů a požadavků. |

The Thesis deals with one of the controversial topics in the Czech society after 1989, namely the Roma Holocaust. The formerly taboo topic got an attention after the fall of communist regime. The main topic of the debate was the issue of the Czech role in the Roma genocide during World War II. The core of the discussion was than the form of the site of memory in Lety u Písku and existence of a pig farm at the place of a former Gypsy camp. The whole debate related to the Roma Holocaust and it´s changes is mapped here. Different narratives used by political elites are introduced to show not just their view to this specific part of a history but mainly to demonstrate how this narratives justify the current attitudes of the elites towards the Roma minority as a whole. |
