| Abstract: | Zlatý kolovrat je autorská kniha představující mou interpretaci balady od Karla Jaromíra Erbena. Původní verše básně jsou doplněny o mé textové vsuvky rozvíjející příběh v hororové vyprávění. Text je doplněn tužkovými šerosvitnými ilustracemi, které sledují tlumené světlo promítané na deformované figury a krajiny. Kniha je místy zlacená zlatem rozptýleným po stránkách. Navazuje svým tématem a zpracováním na kulturní tradici národního obrození, ale digitalizací a moderním textem se vztahuje i k současnosti. Přímým použitím zlata se kniha Zlatý kolovrat stává jedinečným, mimořádným objektem, přesahujícím hranice hromadného vydávání knih. |
| Abstract in different language: | My diploma work is an author´s book Zlatý kolovrat, inspired by and based on the romanticist poem of the same name by Karel Jaromír Erben, which offers a new interpretation of the subject through pencil drawn illustrations and the addition of my own contemporary text in prose. The original poem Zlatý kolovrat is a fairy tale drawn from the Czech folklore with fairy tale typical archetypes and symbolism. My own text added in between the verses and chapters shows the story in a different light, in the form of a horror story. I aim to transform the Zlatý kolovrat story which has been stifled by the fact that it is one of the master pieces of Czech literature and as such was studied and analysed in schools to the point of the vanishing of all enjoyment we could get out of a simpler reading. My wish is to make the poem accessible to a modern (possibly young) audience while still maintaining the merits and the beauty of the poem as well as the object of an author´s book. Part of my diploma work in addition is a stop-motion animated film telling the first part of the Zlatý kolovrat which uses the pencil drawn illustrations. It is a parallel to the concept of the book using the language of a film as well as a further exploration in the topic of creating an atmosphere with light and shadows. |
