Práce nadále popisuje problémy, ke kterým v procesu docházelo a v závěrečné části autor hodnotí celkový význam vybudované transkontinentální železnice pro dějiny USA. |

Within this theme attention is paid to the construction process and the overall theme is embedded in the economic, social, and cultural framework of American history. Specifically, the the thesis focuses, for example, on analyzing the sentiments, opinions, and reactions of society to planned and then ongoing construction. Attention is also given to the loss of life associated with construction. The thesis goes on to describe the problems that occurred in the process, and in the final section the author assesses the overall significance of the transcontinental railroad to U.S. history. |
