| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se bude zabývat hospodářským významem tzv. Svobodného státu konžského pod patronací belgického krále Leopolda II. v letech 1885-1908. Analyzována bude problematika nucených prací, produkce kaučuku a správy kolonie. Významnou část práce bude tvořit mezinárodní kritika Leopoldovy politiky v Kongu, která přispěla k jeho pádu v roce 1908 a vzniku Belgického Konga. Práce bude postavena na širokém spektru primárních pramenů (Arthur Conan Doyle, Edmund Morel, Mark Twain, Roger Casement, Joseph Conrad) a sekundární literatury. |
| Abstract in different language: | The bachelor thesis will be focused on economic importance of the so called Congo Free State under the patronage of the belgium king Leopold II. in years 1885-1908. It will be analyzing the issue of the forced labor, rubber production and administration of the colony. The significant part of the work will be form the international criticism of Leopold's policy in Congo which contributed to his fall in the 1908 and to establishment of the Belgian Congo. The thesis will be based on the wide spectrum of the primary sources (Arthur Conan Doyle, Edmund Morel, Mark Twain, Roger Casement, Joseph Conrad) and the secondary literature. |
