Zdůrazněný bude především samotný vývoj a průběh bojů. Autor bude vycházet především ze studia odborné literatury vydané v českém a anglickém jazyce. |
Abstract in different language: | This work focuses on the Anglo-French battles that took place during the Second World War. The struggles started after the French surrender in June 1940. France Signited peace treaty with Germany. French navy, which was untouched by war, could be used by Germany and Italy. This fact became a threat to the United Kingdom. Some of French warships managed to escape to British ports, but lots of french warships ecapeted to the French ports in North Africa. The start of the struggles was the attack on the 3rd squadron of French combat vessels in the port of Mers el-Kabir near Oran. This attack was part of the British operation Catapult. The aim of this operation was to eliminate the risk of returning French naval vessels to home ports. French never forgived this attack, which thus became the driving force for the further military engagement of the two countries in the Mediterranean. Aims of this work is to analyze the factors that led to mutual conflict. Further, the thesis will deal with the political situation and the comparison of the military components of the two participating countries. Emphasis will be placed on the very development and course of the struggle. The author will be based mainly on the study of professional literature published in Czech and English. |
