Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá shrnutím evolučních poznatků ohledně menstruačního cyklu a jeho možnou souvislostí s častým rozvojem rakoviny reprodukčních orgánů, resp. zejména rakoviny prsu. Počet menstruačních cyklů se u různých lidských populací liší. Skrze srovnávání této četnosti zjišťujeme rozdíly v množství působících pohlavních hormonů na ženská těla. A to může, především u žen z ekonomicky vyspělých zemí, zapříčiňovat častější výskyt rakoviny prsu. |
Abstract in different language: | This paper summarizes the evolutionary evidence regarding the menstruation cycle and its possible link with the frequent development of cancer of reproductive organs, especially breast cancer. The number of menstruation cycles varies in different human populations. By compering these frequencies, differences in the amount of sex hormons acting on women´s bodies can be detected. And this may, especially in women in economically developed countries, cause a higher incidence of breast cancer. |
