| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá rolí 101. výsadkové divize armády spojených států amerických během bitvy v Ardenách, posledním pokusu Adolfa Hitlera zvrátit průběh 2. světové války. Hlavním bojištěm divize bylo okolí města Bastogne v Belgii, které bylo kompletně obklíčeno německou armádou. Cílem práce je analyzovat podmínky, ve kterých divize musela během zimy přežít a rozebrat jejich bojová nasazení v této oblasti. |
| Abstract in different language: | Bachelor thesis is focused on the role of the 101st airborne division of the United states army during the battle of the Ardennes (battle of the bulge). It was the last attempt of Adolf Hitler to change the results of 2nd world war. The division was situated around the city of Bastogne in Belgium. The city was completely surrounded by german army. Primary aim is to analyse the conditions which division went through and describe its battle missions in this area. |
